While Mansions in the Park’s 26 oak-lined acres may feel secluded, the apartments are actually located in the heart of Baton Rouge. Just off Perkins Road and Essen Lane, these apartments are mere minutes from some of the city’s best food, coffee, shopping, and more!

Rum House – The second installation of this New Orleans favorite, Rum House serves up its tasty trademark Caribbean-style cuisine and signature craft cocktails. Known for its creative take on tacos, you’re sure to leave happy after a few of their jerk chicken, creole rib, or chipotle shrimp tacos. If the weather is nice, be sure to check out their amazing patio seating area!

Batch 13 Biscuits & Bowls – a newer addition to the neighborhood from the Copeland family, Batch 13 is a fun, fast-casual restaurant perfect for breakfast, brunch, or lunch! While the restaurant certainly offers delicious healthy items like their Indian-inspired tandoori chicken bowl or berry avocado salad bowl, the bonuts are the signature menu item. A mix between a beignet and a biscuit, these delicious creations are not only offered up as pastries, but are also served up as savory-sweet sandwiches.

BREC Perkins Road Community Park – With a private entrance from the back of the property, this park is like an extension of your backyard! Covering 52 acres and featuring walking trails, playgrounds, and fishing ponds, the adjacent park is one of our favorite parts of living at Mansions. In addition to its more tradition amenities, Perkins Road Community Park also features a skate park, BMX bike track, rock climbing tower, and even a  cycling velodrome – one of only 15 such tracks in the United States!

Light House Coffee – There’s Starbucks and CC’s a stone’s throw from the property for a quick cup of coffee but if you’re looking to chat with a friend to hunker down and work for a couple hours, this is the spot! Light House Coffee features an inviting space serving up amazing, small-batch specialty coffee, espresso drinks, pastries, and delicious gourmet toast.

Olive or Twist – Having a good bar within walking distance of your home is nice. Having a great bar within walking distance of your home is fantastic! Voted the best cocktail bar in Baton Rouge’s by 225 Magazine, you’ll love this cozy watering hole. With top-notch craft cocktails, a slew of brews, and a tasty menu, Olive or Twist is one of our favorite neighborhood spots.

Ichiban Sushi Bar & Grill – You have to have a good sushi spot nearby and Ichiban Sushi is just that. With a wide array of fresh and delicious sushi, sashimi, and Hibachi, Ichiban is the perfect place to sit down for a nice meal or pick up for a relaxing night at home.

Albertsons – It may not be the most exciting hot spot, but having a nearby grocery store is vital for a good apartment location. Luckily for Mansions in the Park residents, Albertsons is directly across the street from the community. Pop in for groceries, pharmacy, produce, and beer, wine and liquor, or take advantage of their new delivery service!

Perkins Rowe – one of the area’s premier shopping destinations, Perkins Rowe blends shopping, dining, entertainment, office, and grocery in one pedestrian-friendly location. Perkins Rowe offers stores like J. Crew, Kendra Scott, and Alumni Hall, as well as a Cinemark Movie Theater and an array of restaurants.

Mall of Louisiana – on a hot Baton Rouge day, the Mall of Louisiana is the perfect place to enjoy an afternoon of shopping! With 160 specialty stores, 26 restaurants, and a 16-screen AMC movie theater, the Mall of Louisiana is the largest shopping mall in the state.

PetSmart – Mansions in the Park is a bet friendly community, and our location is pet friendly as well! Just a 10-minute drive from the community, you can grab food, treats and toys for your dog, cat, or fish at PetSmart.
